New Brunswick, NJ; July 5, 2016–New Brunswick Tomorrow (NBT), a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of New Brunswick’s residents, has announced that its Board of Directors has selected Jaymie Santiago as its incoming President. Jaymie will transition into the role on July 1, 2016 as Mitchell Landis transitions out of the Interim President position, returning to NBT’s Board of Directors at a later date.
“Jaymie is a proven leader in the non-profit field,” said Mitchell Landis. “His leadership, passion and assertiveness prove his deep commitment to the New Brunswick Community and the Board of Directors is pleased to announce this appointment.”
Jaymie joined New Brunswick Tomorrow as Director of Program Operations and was subsequently promoted to Vice President. His experience includes over 12 years of program development and administration in the New Brunswick community, serving with the Rutgers Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed), Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Rutgers Against Hunger, New Brunswick Community Food Alliance, and the New Brunswick Community Farmers Market. Jaymie is an alumnus of NBT’s Leadership Tomorrow and Leadership Now programs.
“We were seeking a visionary leader with strong interpersonal and strategic planning skills” said Roger W. Daley, Interim Chair of the Board of Directors. “Jaymie has an exemplary record of engaging residents and community partners.”
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead such an exceptional organization that has a clear and focused mission on improving the quality of life for New Brunswick residents,” said Santiago. “I see the opportunity to really expand the impact we have achieved to date and build upon the legacy of our founder, John J. Heldrich, and the dedicated men and women who serve our community every day.”
Santiago holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs and Policy from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Monmouth University. He, his wife, Chevonne, and their 3 daughters are proud New Brunswick residents.
