Andersen Corporate Foundation Awards Grant to NBT

New Brunswick, NJ – Today, The Board of Directors of Andersen Corporate Foundation, on behalf of Silver Line Building Products, Inc., an Andersen Company, announced that a grant of $10,000 has been awarded to New Brunswick Tomorrow (NBT). NBT is the non-profit organization responsible for the City of New Brunswick’s social revitalization.

In announcing the grant, Ms. Jackie Rahbari, Chair of the Stewardship Committee for Silver Line Building Products, stated, “Silver Line strongly believes in the mission of New Brunswick Tomorrow. The grant support will empower NBT to continue to improve the quality of life in the City of New Brunswick.” Ms. Rahbari shared that she recently toured several programs throughout New Brunswick that were developed by NBT. She added that she was particularly impressed by the Parent-Infant Care Center, a program at New Brunswick High School that assists teen parents to remain in and graduate from high school. Ms. Rahbari said, “the program motivates and builds the parenting skills of young student-parents which enables then to successfully graduate from high school, while their infants receive quality care.”

Jeffrey Vega, NBT President, welcomed the grant support from Andersen Corporate Foundation. Mr. Vega stated, “the grant will be utilize to support the organization in responding to the social needs of the community.” NBT recently completed a needs assessment that revealed several health and human service needs of city residents. Mr. Vega said, “the support from Andersen Corporate Foundation will enable NBT to develop the appropriate actionable plans that will help residents work toward self-sufficiency and economic mobility.”

Since 1975, NBT has addressed the city’s quality of life issues, focusing on developing public/private partnerships that respond to the health, human service and education needs of city residents.
